Biography

With more than 14 years of experience, Deoroop serves as the Associate Director, Forensics at HLZAE. Deoroop is responsible for coordinating all correspondence within the Special Inspections Department and reviewing construction documents for cost estimation purposes. Upon project initiation, expectations are clearly defined to the client, the engineer, contractor, and all parties involved to establish that the inspection guidelines are established. Deoroop also performs structural inspections and relays any discrepancies observed in the field to the project team to ensure that the work performed by the contractor is in accordance with approved plans and specifications.

Prior to HLZAE, Deoroop coordinated and oversaw the majority of concrete placements from the foundation slab for 56 Fulton Street, The Exhibit, a new 24-story concrete residential and commercial building in Lower Manhattan. Deoroop also worked on the Westfield World Trade Center, where he inspected structural alterations for various tenants (Banana Republic, H & M, Victoria’s Secret) ranging from new elevator pits to reinforced concrete topping slabs.

Deoroop’s experience at HLZAE includes overseeing the complete flood-proofing and MEP upgrade of Dayton Towers, a complex of seven 13-story residential buildings. Deoroop graduated from Swarthmore College with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Deoroop also holds certifications for the International Code Council (ICC) as a Master of Special Inspection, American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Construction Special Inspector and a Certified Infrared Thermographer (Level I).
