Michael Cassidy

Director, Forensics

Biography

With more than 20 years of experience, Michael serves as Director for the Forensic Department at HLZAE. His team is responsible for providing a thorough review and analysis of project documentation, including contracts and offering plans, and drafting language that presents project information in a clear and concise manner. He also functions as HLZAE’s in-house counsel, providing insight on legal matters.

Michael specializes in forensic investigations on behalf of condominium associations, cooperative boards, and developers to identify construction defects or deficiencies with respect to building conditions. His team determines the existence, locations, and underlying causes of failures in building components and systems by performing thorough reviews of building documentation as well as visual observations of accessible building components. Michael leverages his professional judgment and construction experience to assess and provide a written opinion as to the cause of observed deficiencies.

Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York and a Juris Doctor from New York Law School.
