DOB Update: Façade & Scaffold Safety Blitz

On February 22, 2021, the Department of Buildings (DOB) announced the launch of a seven-week façade and scaffold safety blitz starting this month.

This initiative aims to better educate construction workers and industry professionals on scaffold safety to ensure all safety measures are being taken on construction sites. In addition to educational outreach, DOB inspectors will be visiting façade repair sites to verify site safety and compliance with New York City regulations.

The city will have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to the safety of New Yorker and aims to improve work site safety and hold owners accountable for proper maintenance of their building’s facades.
