Façade Restoration
Howard L. Zimmerman Architects, P.C. provided architectural consulting services for façade restoration for this 12-story Landmark property. The Carl Fischer Building is a pre-war residential/commercial property with 27 condominium units and is situated at the corner of Cooper Square and Astor Place within the Noho Historic district.

Performed probe investigation of building façade, window lintel, limestone cornice, rooftop structures, building corners, structural steel framework and parapet walls under the auspices of the Landmark Preservation Commission |

Brick replacement that involved extensive research to match the existing brick, mortar and stone repair material |

Cleaning of the limestone base |

Designed, specified and administered reconstruction and repair of all exterior building components including the complete replacement of the southeast building corner |

Extensive repair of window lintels as well as reinforcement of structural steel elements |
Project challenges for this assignment involved inclusive exterior restoration while maintaining the original unique appearance of this landmark structure.
