Howard L. Zimmerman Architects, P.C. developed schematic designs for the expansion of the 3rd. floor at 11 West 30th Street in midtown Manhattan. The renovation involved a complete gut rehabilitation that resulted in the transfiguration of the former divided space into an expanded and unified open space in this commercial and residential building.
Scope of Work:
Interior partition demolition
Providing new reception desk and office cabinetry
Designing new workstations including cubicle partitions and work surfaces
Installing new flooring
Renovating existing bathrooms, providing new floor and wall tiles, fixtures and cabinets
Installing new light fixtures and furnishing
Constructing new window openings to provide more daylight
Wiring throughout for computer network and phone system
Project challenges for this assignment included adapting the existing space to the needs of an expanding business while ensuring aesthetic and ergonomic workspaces. The entire staff was relocated to alternate space during renovation and were scheduled to return to the newly renovated space within ten-week timeframe.
