Richard Moses, RA

Richard has nearly 30 years of architectural experience in the field of exterior restoration and historic preservation, including work in New York City landmarks, as well as buildings in the National Register of Historic Places and National Historic Landmarks. As Director at HLZA, he is responsible for the management and oversight of multiple projects involving the building envelope, façade, rooftop, plazas, and infrastructure.

Previously, Richard was Architect at the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) and Director of its Historic Preservation Grant Program, where he administered numerous preservation projects, individual Landmarks, and buildings in New York’s designated historic districts. Some of Richard’s projects include a renovation at 56-11 94th Street, a seven-story residential building in Queens that was nearly destroyed after a fire and renovations to St. Michael’s Villa in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.

Richard is a Registered Architect in the State of New York. He earned a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from Columbia University in 1983, and a Bachelor of Architecture from City College, City University of New York in 1988.
