Biography

As HLZAE’s in-house Façade Inspection & Safety Program (FISP) expert, Carolyn is responsible for FISP quality assurance and control, tracking all of HLZAE’s FISP reports, and ensuring timely submission within the building’s respective filing window.  During her career, she has inspected hundreds of buildings and reviewed thousands of FISP reports before submission to the New York City Department of Buildings.

Carolyn has more than 15 years of experience with exterior restoration projects. She has performed façade restoration programs from initial condition investigations through construction administration and close-out. Additional experience includes leak investigations, coordination with Landmarks Preservation Commission, window master plans, forensic investigations, and new building consulting. Carolyn has also led several interior renovations and ADA-related alterations. Some of her historic restoration projects include the restoration of the limestone and brick façade at 20 Exchange Place, brick masonry façade of 63 Wall Street and terra cotta restoration at 434 Broadway. She also led the team that replaced the 29-story window wall at 1 Northside Piers in Williamsburg.

Carolyn has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. She is a Registered Architect in the State of New York, a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) approved by the New York City Facades Unit and is certified as a Rope Access Technician by the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT). She also manages HLZAE’s rope access team
